Process

Brief

This is my first contact with a new client. Time will be spent getting a feel for the site and evaluating my client’s aspirations.

A written brief will then be prepared, outlining what we have discussed, how the process will work, and costs involved. At this point a decision will be made as to whether detailed plans are necessary.

In some situations, involving less complex projects, plans may not be needed. If this is the case, we will move right onto formal quotations for the work at this point. If plans are to be drawn up, the process for these can be seen below.

Survey

All information relating to existing level changes, buildings, trees and utilities will be recorded at this stage. Soils will also be tested, and samples taken where necessary.

Complex sites may require professional surveyors, which can be arranged. A photographic survey and analysis will also be carried out.

Design Concept

This will be a presentation of the proposed scheme. It will include A2/A3 hard copies of the scale drawings, with necessary 3D visuals and mood boards that all come together to convey exactly how the finished garden will look.

Detailed Design

A final detailed masterplan will be produced. With this available, the project can be accurately costed and built to spec.

Planting

Planting plans can either be prepared separately or in conjunction with detailed drawings. This will again involve the use of multiple mood boards and visuals to detail the proposed planting scheme.

Build

The scheme that has been created is now ready to go out for tender.

Due to the special relationship we have with our clients by this stage, we will always offer our services in the construction of the proposed scheme. We take personal pride in seeing plans come to fruition in the way we had envisaged.
